    Casio Forum Structure and OCW-S100-1AJF question

    I was expecting a structure like
    Forum -> Watch Brands -> Casio
    with subforums
    -> G-Shock
    -> Oceanus
    -> etc.
    Is there not enough interest in Oceanus or other Casio watches to warrant a separate subforum?

    I also have a question regarding the Oceanus OCW-S100-1AJF.
    Its blue halo reminds me of the beautiful green halo of the Rolex Milgauss GV.
    Does it have the same origin, i.e., tinting of the sapphire glass?
    Is this unique among Casio watches, and if not, which others have halos,
    and in what color?

    regards,
    -John

    Ah... Better late than never. The watch is still current.

    I owned the watch. There's a colored blue ring. Looks great. But no, the crystal is not tinted. However, Oceanus did produce a limited edition model with a true blue tinted Sapphire crystal:

    Others might find this useful - I guess "John Tromp" however will no longer profit from the answer to his question .

    Still a really nice watch. Too bad the Oceanus range is no longer sold in Germany - don't know about other parts of europe or if it is still sold outside Japan at all.

    Hi Sedi,

    I like his suggestion though, an Oceanus subforum would have been nice. Not much info on the brand out there. I pm'ed a couple of owners before pulling the trigger on one, and did do after getting unanimously positive responses.

    It would probably not generate enough traffic.

    Maybe it could be a grouping - like Edifice, Lineage and Oceanus - or maybe all non-G Casios.

    I often think it can be a shame that discussion on some of the less mainstream models can get a bit lost in the higher traffic and popularity of the Gs.

    It has been discussed before but it didn't get much support. All non-G Casios would include Protreks which are already in the Digi&ABC-forum (which I happen to moderate) - since Suunto has their own forum there would not be much ABC-brands left - at least no brands that generate enough traffic. I admit that sometimes searching for info on a particular brand that doesn't have its own sub-forum can be tiresome - on the other hand splitting up a forum in too many sub-forums can be quite counter-productive, too. I guess there is just no perfect solution.

    I think the current system works well enough. Most G-Shock enthusiasts are knowledgable of the rest of Casio's lineup, or at least open minded and willing to help.
