    Casio G Shock

    Hi all,

I just joined up. Can some of you who know alot on the G-Shocks, tell me if all of them, meaning new current models, have mineral glass?
Thanking all in advance, as I am looking at a new purchase soon.

PS. Very impressed with the photo gallery so far. Very envious. I'm a wearer and not a collector. So my hat off to all of you who collect, as watches here in Australia are tad on the expensive side compared to the otherside of the world

    Regards

    Paul

    Hi Paul and welcome

As fas as I know, they all do. Some of the very top of the Casio range include Sapphire crystals, but those tend to be limited to the most expensive metal-bodied Protrek/Pathfinder range. All the others are mineral glass, including 99.9% of anything you see photographed or referenced on this forum.

    Maine,

I appreciate the answer so quickly. I'm looking at the "Wristwatchonline" site and some of the descriptions for the G-shocks quote mineral glass and some don't. Just thought I'd ask the question to those who are in the know. Thanks alot. And what a range to select from.

Casio sticks with mostly mineral due to the fact that it will take more abuse and will scratch or pit the cyrstal, Saphire is a harder material and is more scratch resistant but it is more prone to shatter.
