    Casio G Shock AW500 finally...

Finally found myself a brand spanking NOS 1989 Model AW500

Here's how it compares with the AW582 "AW500" reissue from a couple years ago. The original has the 380 module and a resin case.

AW582 has screws to hold on the caseback.

I like the overall looks of the newer one better, but I can really appreciate that the hands of the old one never cover the digital display. This has been one of my issues with digital/analog watches, and few models take this into consideration.

Had it on my watch list for eBay for quite some time. The same guy has another one there now.

Yeah, and the one that he has for sale has scratches on the back bezel from the battery change that he did. Sorry, but it's no longer NOS when it has small gouges and scratches on the notches on the screw back bezel.

Well... these are rarer than hen's teeth and having one come up in this condition, let alone at all, is pretty amazing. BTW- he said the same thing about mine, but the tiny scratches were so light (you can't even see them in my photo), that they will easily buff out with Cape Cod cloth. Perfect other than that. I was concerned, too until I received it. He does not mention battery changing scratches on the one currently available. Where did you get "gouges" from?

Watch the last minute sniping on this puppy! I see everyone's holding back.

If you look at the picture, one of the notches on the screw back has a gouge and scratch on it on the edge of the notch.

Gouge or reflection? It's impossible to say without the watch in your hand. Either way, it looks fine.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

LOL, since I actually have the watch, I can assure you that it has no gouges, only a couple very faint scratches that as mentioned, will easily come out with Cape Cod cloth. You are reading too much into the reflections.
