Casio G-shocks with AutoCalendar programmed to the year 2039 are not obsolete!

I own a Casio G2900 and realized that its AutoCalendar is only programmed up to the year 2039.
But I also know that our calendars go through a 28-year cycle which includes leap years.
If you possess a Casio watch that has AutoCalendar only to the year 2039, you can still use your watch by setting the year on your watch to 2012, in the year 2040.
Your watch will then be accurate for the next 27 years after that (I'm not taking into account battery changes here, but the G2900 has a 10-year battery life).
You can continue to reset it to the year 2012, by reference the table I provide below.
This only applies to Casio watches that do NOT display the current year in Timekeeping mode; if yours does, then it might be annoying to see the wrong year on the watch face.

    For example:
    April 14, 2040 is a Saturday; April 14, 2012 is a Saturday
    February 29, 2040 is a Wednesday; February 29, 2012 is a Wednesday
    May 5, 2041 is a Sunday; May 5, 2013 is a Sunday

You don't have to believe me, you can use timeanddate's weekday calculator to verify by clicking here

Here is a table for reference:
Actual year, Year to set on Casio watch with AutoCalendar that only goes up to 2039.
    2040 2012

    You are correct. https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/wha...9-a-54806.html

The problem is in 22 years I probably will forget about this.

There are G's that display the year on the main screen? Not any recent models, right? I can't recall seeing one but granted I really started paying attention to G's a little over a year ago.

Well, if a Casio watch is a recent one, then it wouldn't have the 2039 AutoCalendar limitation (so I assume).

I'm sure that in 21 years, many of the vintage Casios with calendars ending in 2039 will still be functioning. I wonder if I'll still be into Casios and G-Shocks at that time.

Yes, there are some G's that displays the year in the main screen. MRG-1, GS-100, DW-8500 and DW-8800 are some of them.

Yup you got what I was asking. So there aren't any recent models. Thanks for answering.
