    Casio GShock DW6600 - rebuild | Help

So a friend of mine had a DW6600 laying the drawer when we visited a few weeks ago. Turns out that he son gave it to her and it was very special to her and she wished that should could wear it again. I asked - battery need changed? No problem I can do that for you. Well upon getting it - the entire thing is in full resin rot, crumbling and in need of an entire refurb. So I was going to do this for her - I have never bought anything from PacParts - but I was going to start there - if you guys have any tips or links to the right parts to help make this easier on me I would appreciate it.

If pacparts is not having 6600 parts all DW-6900 parts will work too!

Are you just replacing the resin? If so, it is a simple thing to obtain. Just don't get any G or GW parts. DW-6600 or DW-6900 only

My guess would be just be a new battery, new resin, and for good measure a new "O" ring. My guess is the module should be fine if has not been abused. Enjoy the rebuild, sounds like fun.

    I agree.
Also the O-ring from the DW-6900 will fit! :)

Wow -- it seems Pacparts is now showing parts available FOR the DW-6600! (For a while, I thought they showed as "discontinued," but many people here knew that DW-6900 parts were interchangeable.)

    Casio DW6600-1V Parts and Accessories

Back rubber seal, band, BEZEL, and battery! All of those parts also fit other models, but I think it's nice to see them listed on the DW-6600 page!

It is not unusual really. I have seen previously discontinued parts come back in stock, often with different part numbers. Gw-200ms strap for example

The DW-6600 is my oldest (running) G-Shock, so I don't normally keep an eye on discontinued parts lists. With all of your restoration projects, you obviously HAVE kept up with their discontinued parts.

It's nice to know that even though a part is listed as "discontinued" that it might reappear in the future.
