    Casio GW200MS-1 Price??

With a MSRP of $350.00 for the frogman is paying $310.00 with free shipping still too much for this watch. I want one but do you guys think a price drop is still ahead?

I got a Japanese release one for $270 USD shipped, but I was lucky and had good timing. Anything under $350 could be considered reasonable I guess. It just depends on how much you want one.

There was one site already that had it listed for around $240, but I don't know if anyone actually got one at that price, because they pulled it pretty quick. Amazon might have it at around that price too sometime. But those discounted ones will probably come without the special box and packaging.

There could be lots of great deals in the future, or there could be none. On one side you have the high demand for this one, and on the other is the tight economy.

It's always hard to predict these things, and Casio is probably doing it this way on purpose. I woulnd't be surprised if they pulled the MIRB Frogman immediately after the green one gets released sometime in the next few weeks.

If you can get a price around $300, I'd say it's a pretty good deal.

    Re: Casio GW200MS-1 Price??

The price will come down...keep in mind that the MIRB was just really available about 2 weeks ago after a mysterious delay to ramp up anticipation...and supposedly Casio is prohibiting authorized distributors (in US) from selling them online.

They're just trying to keep that discounted price as close to MSRP as possible for as long as possible. But once a steady stream of supply gets pumped into the dealers hands, the prices will drop. I would estimate that in a few weeks you should be able to pick up one up for at least a 20% discount, maybe even up to 35% if you hunt for a deal online.

But of course they are limited which means production will stop at some time in the near future, so you can't wait too long. I'd say as soon as you see it for a price you're comfortable with, snag it up.

But remember that Casio's goal is to sell watches and make money. The whole created illusion of something being "limited" or "collectable" allows them to get that higher price they're after.

But with all that said, I'm not sure how long I can hold out til I buy one!
