    Casio gwf--D1000 Frogman vs GW-5000-1JF

I'm thinking about selling my Frogman and "downgrading" to GW-5000-1JF from my D1000 Frogman.

How big are the digits on gw5000 vs D1000?
    How are the buttons?
Can anyone do a general comparison?
Don't get me wrong i love my Frogman it's just it's a bit heavy for me sometimes...
So I'm thinking gw5000 is also built like a tank but lighter than the Frogman...
    Am i making a mistake?

Keep the GWF-D1000 and buy an inexpensive GW-M5610 to wear when you want something smaller and lighter.

The 5000 is teeny-tiny compared to the D which is something to keep in mind.

Don't do what a watch enthusiast friend of mine often does. He'll sell one watch to fund another that he thinks he'll prefer, realizes he doesn't like the new watch, so he sells it and re-buys the first one, losing money on each sale.

I have both and would keep the frogman over the gw5000. The frogman has larger digits, a louder alarm, and easier to press buttons. The frogman is a big heavy watch but still very comfy and has the luxury of sapphire and carbon fiber band insert that you cant get on the GW5000. As was said prior, i would get both in hand and decide which to flip then.

Or you can do it "Piowa way". Buy new watch (f.e. GW-M5610), wear the frog and the square for some time.
Then decide to sell one of them or to keep both.

    Cheers, Piowa

The 5000 is a grrrrrreat watch but it's simply not in the same league as the frog. Personally I'd keep the frog but that's a decision no one can take for you.

As for your other questions, well the 5000 is a pretty standard square if you forget about about the screwback steel case. I'd suggest stepping into a store and trying a similar one on so you can decide if the buttons and functions are good enough for you.

One big plus with the Frog is that you can shower with it though

I have both and prefer Frogman by a wide margin. Buttons on GW-5000 suck. I don’t regret buying it but if I had to swap my Frogman I would be filled with regret.

Hi. I always wanted a Mudman. Later on in life I ended up purchasing a square. Point being squares are quintessential G-Shock and are versatile- they suite anyone, anywhere. So I would get the GW-5000-1JF, but check weight for you, as I've heard its heavy for some coming from composite G's, but not heavy for a watch. Try to keep the Frogman though, if possible.

Personally, I decided against solar, atomic timing and features like current time not displayed in modes with GW-5000-1JF, so my daily wear is a DW-5030C-1JR...

I agree with most replies. Just buy a regular square gwm5610 or dw5600e and keep the froggy.
