    Casio GWX-8902k-7jr ??

Any fortunate owners of this beauty that can share their thoughts and experiences?

I shamlessly admit that I am smitten with the ICERC G-shocks. I know, I know, most people hate that whale or dolphin in the background when they hit the EL button...but I'm addicted. I even love the flying mantas on my DW-8201WC Froggy!

Lots of looks, but no responses? Surely someone out there must own one of these. Don't be shy now!

we don't own those ICERC much because they are expensive, of course, we have the same taste as you, but maybe not as rich?
i can tell it functions just like other 8900, or generally like any Gshock out there, white color tends to get dirty
as for the dolphin, it's cool but all the excitement will wear off as time goes, just like a new car, new girl ...and almost everything in life

I have the lime green version of that watch, and it is the only G-Shock I have ever had any issues with... the auto light doesn't work, and the color fell out of the top part of the "G" on the light button. Still a great watch, but I'm wary of that model.

The reason this is not very popular unlike the Rangeman Earth watch model is probably because at around $300 it is so expensive for being a 8900 model and also does not look very different compared to the regular ones, design not spectacular enough. The GWX-8900 has positioned itself in the G-Shock line up as a very price worthy atomic model, a chance to own a good solar atomic for cheap. So this is a difficult sale, only for the most dedicated ICERC collectors. Regarding the dolphin/whale in the background, I do not think that is a hated feature by most collectors. In the contrary not enough models get released these days with EL pictures!

This particular ICERC is the first one to be released outside of Japan, a few of them was made available in the G-Shock stores in London and SOHO NYC.

I love the GWX-8900 and cetaceans in general, but I can't do white.

    Gets dirty too easily.

Thanks to all for your valued responses!

I may have to re-think this one. I am a fan of Casio's WCCS and ICERC watches...just something about them that speaks to me, even given the fact that they are generally just dolled-up versions of basic models.

Seems these days they tend to be rarely seen in the US market, even pre-owned. Looks like most reside in Japan, at least if you consider eBay as a guide. Yes, they do command a premium price.

This GWX-8902k-7jr got my attention as it was a recent release, atomic and solar. I agree that white may not be the best color choice. Maybe Casio should have gone back to the jelly blue or green for this one.
