Never picked up one of the G-Steel models and always thought about it.

These look nice, but this propeller thing just throws me off a bit.

It looks like the propeller is a battery level indicator.

The price is very reasonable. 55,000 jpy converts to about $510 dollars. I am thinking of buying the GST-B100D with the stainless bracelet.

What do you guys think about Bluetooth technology as the only way to time sync the watch? (other than manual, of course)

Will Casio keep updating their app to keep it working with this model? Will we even have Bluetooth 10 years later?

I can see Radio sync and GPS sync more reliable for the long term.

The propeller is terrible, I prefer my analog and digital GST-W110D, with multi band 6, every night the time is updated without the phone partnership. Maybe useful the smartphone support where the time signal is not available...

Bluetooth tech has been around since 1994, has advanced every 2-3 years since, and is so ubiquitous at this point that I wouldn't worry too much about it disappearing anytime soon. I have two G-Shocks that use Bluetooth to synch the time (an Edifice EQB-501XDB and a GPW-2000) using two different Casio apps (Casio Watch+ and G-Shock Connected) and have had zero issues with pairing the watches to my HTC 10 or with synching the time daily. The apps have both been updated within the past couple of months, and I expect Casio will continue to do so as more and more of their watches begin to implement this technology (including the latest MR-G).

I think Casio must think to release one app only, for all Bluetooth models, because in your example, have two apps is annoying...
