Casio no longer recommends 200m rating for scuba

    Hello,

Has anyone else noticed a change in the casio watch manuals?

On reading the gulfman instruction manual it mentions that 200m water resist is not recommended for scuba and that only watches saying divers 200m or air divers 200m should be used, it also says that button pushing underwater should be avoided.

This is different to previous manuals such as mudman which says all okay for scuba and underwater button pushing is okay for 200m but not for other ratings.

Why the change, technical or legal?

    Scott.

Probably due to paranoid corporate attorneys. Unless Casio has cheapened the G-Shock design, they are good to go for scuba!

It's just another example of 'nanny state' mentality.

If they're not tough enough to go scuba with, then what's the point of them?

Yes. I saw that when I got my Gulfman last year.
