    casio ocw-s100-1ajf or alternative?

    Good day to everyone.

I am looking to add a Quartz to my collection. I'm wanting it to be a nice Quartz for me ($200-400 preferably on the lower end) I currently have autos and don't know much about quartz value for money.

While browsing for a Quartz watch I came across the casio ocw-s100-1ajf. This watch immediately caught my eye. The waveceptor technology and titanium are definitely appealing.

However, the watch is a bit more than I'm wanting to spend. I'm wondering if you guys could share your knowledge and answer the following:

Is this particular model worth the price?
Is there a model with a few less features that would be cheaper?
Are there some cheaper models that are similar style/looks?

Pic of watch below. Pic from Google.

    Thanks for your input!

    Queue expected f17 answer in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

You will not go wrong with the S100!

Solar charging, radio synch, titanium for light weight, perfect size, understated looks. What more could you want at an extremely reasonable price? Of course you can buy a cheaper watch, but not with this quality.

Now is $468 shipped from Chino in Tokyo, very reliable, fast shipping dealer, well worth it.

OCW-S100 is 40mm all titanium, sapphire, solar, atomic, perpetual calendar, 32 time zones (very subtle, almost hidden, around the chapter ring), Made in Japan.

The answer to all three questions is "yes". However, the complete Oceanus package is well worth the price. I ended up with mine after I handled some Attesas in person and was left cold. The simple styling is also something that is hard to find in a contemporary-sized sporty watch with the feature set the S100 has. I wouldn't give up anything it brings to the table.

And if it hasn't been mentioned before, the titanium bracelet with micro-adjustment AND half links have set a new bar for my expectations in any watch up to, and possibly exceeding, the $1000 mark. It is easily my most comfortable watch.

    EDIT:

As a side note, the TiC titanium is quite impressive. I don't know if it is hardened or just a surface treatment but it makes the metal, in my experience, about as durable as standard stainless steel.

Thanks for the input. You guys are right. The more I hear and the more pictures I see I realize I am just going to have to get this watch. It has so many features and appears great quality for the price tag. I suppose I better start saving money!

Don't forget the pvd version (100B). Either way it is a truly fantastic and under rated watch!

The collective knowledge on F17 never fails to impress.

Anyone owning this watch willing to share some dimensions? I'm rather interested in these measurements: Bezel size, size from 2 to 8 and lug to lug size. Cool watch but I wouldn't like to order before knowing it fits my small wrists.

I'm sure somebody with the details will be along shortly with the dimensions, but just to point out, the lugs of this (and other Oceanus of this era) ofthis watch are bespoke to this watch, other normal straps or bracelets with the same lug width won't fit.
