Casio PRW-3000 - Help me Decide!!

    Hi everyone,

I love this watch but cannot decide on what colour or strap style (urethane or nylon material). I would typically use this for casual days at work (Friday) as well as on weekends or for running, hiking, swimming etc. Any advice or preference?. See pics below.

Never seen the fabric strap in person, so I can only tell you I find the resin strap comfortable.
I am curious about the fabric strap.

Welcome aboard, Aleks! Amazon US has a great deal on what is probably the best version: the original-release, easy-to-read positive display PRW-3000-1 on easy to maintain resin band. Just under $260 direct from Amazon itself has got my attention here in the States, but I don't know how good a deal it'll be for where you are. It's definitely worth a check. Amazon.com: Casio Men's PRW-3000-1CR Protrek Triple Sensor Multi-Function Watch: Watches

There's an even better deal on an original-release, black and orange, easy-to-read positive-display PRW-3000-4 from an Amazon-fulfilled, 3rd party Marketplace seller which is also worth checking out, if you'd rather have more color and a bit less versatility: Amazon.com: Casio Protrek Prw-3000-4jf Solar Radio Controlled Multiband 6 Pro Trek: Watches

Remember, both prices are for shipments in US, so inquire about additional shipping, handling and customs fees to you before pulling the trigger.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Considering you want to use the watch for office duty as well, I would go with the titanium version -- the PRW-3000T-7, though for substantially more money. If not that, then, whatever else version you choose, I think you would be best served by a positive display over the negative one. I also think that a resin band will involve less maintenance than a fabric one, especially if you want it to dry faster or be less prone to mold and sweat stains.

    I don't like straps.

Over time they become "stinky" and they're next to impossible to clean...
(reffering to smell, not to dirt and mud)

Also, I find that raisn is FAR more comfortable than strap.

    But that's just me...

    SIDENOTE:
I'd also consider PAG-270. Same module - atomic. For about 100 bucks on amazon you really can't go wrong.

Positive display if you care about readability.

the "B" range of prw 3000 has cordura bands.they are said to be tougher, more comfortable and less prone to smell etc than older cloth/ nylon bands casio used....but it nedsto be tested.lets see.
mong ordua band casio watches prg 6G is one ach that looks great.

anyway if I was to buy 3000 again and for running ,hiking as well as daily use,I had gone for positive display carbon fiber strp/sapphire crystal prw s3000.

Never noticed any smell on any of my Nato/Zulu/Nylon straps - it's probably because I don't sweat underneath those - IMO there's nothing better in the summer. And they're quite easy to clean - just remove them from the watch and put them in the washing machine.

    cheers, Sedi

Some of us have no issues with negative displays
