    Re: casio WL-100

Found this topic, and decided to fill it uop and share...
Today went to may treasour ark... and rebirth my old good looking CASIO WL 100. (casio module 617)
Bought in 1991 by my parents in Hong Kong.
This model was made in Japan.

Of course, the original strap already disappear... substituted by an lightningbolt velcro strap.
The original rechargeable solar battery(XR 7926W) that I cannot find anyware, was replaced by an RENATA 397 (SR726SW) - this service was already done in 1994/95.
Solar panel amazingling still works. As wen I disassemble the watch, removed the old battery. Reassembled it and under my flourescent desk lamp it reavived again.... Loved.
New battery on, and is still full functional, including the light that iluminate the lcd panel (a poor light...).

These 2 images below are not mine, but ilustrate the original full watch.(except for the black finnish of the buckle on this strap. Originally the buckle was plain staineless steel...)

don't know if it's worth to adquire a new original casio 20mm rubber strap... found at ebay for around 20€!!!

PS: sorry for my english, and photos ;)

    Question Re: casio WL-100

Found at a UK shop a original Casio STRAP for about 7€ (black bucklet), I´m going for it.
Meanhile, need to substitute both the spring bar.
Can you advice the type and diameter for it.
shall I buy 20mm long flanged spring bars?
    Diameter: 1.30mm, 1.50mm or 1.80mm?

    Re: casio WL-100

Thank you for sharing the battery info. I've been trying to find this out (Renata 397).

As for the spring bars, I think that it's the lug length you're looking for which is 18mm (see example reference on spring bar size ref = lug size). The spring bar actual length would be 20mm to fit the holes, but it's still referred to as an 18mm bar because it's supposed to be used for that lug size. In comparison to other CASIO watches I have with the same lug width, like the W-700, the holes are smaller on the WL-100. So, I'd go with the thinner spring bars. But they are inexpensive so I'd get the 1.3 and 1.5mm just to be safe.

    Re: casio WL-100

According to the shop, the lenght of the spring bar must be sorted by the actual full lenght between ludgs. therefore, if it is 20mm, I should order a 20mm spring bar.
    Any oppinion about this?

Yes, "actual full length between the lugs". Does your lug distance measure 20mm? I thought it would be 18mm. I have the WL-10 with the same module, so I figured the lugs would be the same.

UPDATE: found that date of purchase is wrong. This watch was bought in 1989.
