Changing time on CASIO G shock GW-5000-1JF

Ok so just bought this watch from Japan, The intructions are in japanese, Read the english online, still dont get it!

Im in the UK now, should this watch manually change to the time here? its still the wrong time!! Whats all this syncing thing?

How do i change the time?

I know this must sound like a really silly question

    Thanks

Hold the Adjust button (top left), change your home time to LON, then it'll sync overnight. DST probably wont be accurate until it syncs, but just leave the DST on auto and it'll take care of itself. You can attempt to manually sync by holding the bottom right button if you really want to try it now.

It should start to make sense the second time through, once you're not trying to find specific information in a hurry.

IF you configure the watch correctly, it will AUTOMATICALLY attempt to change to the time there at 2:00 AM, per the chart on page 2 of the manual: http://support.casio.com/storage/en/...009/qw3159.pdf. If it doesn't receive the signal at 2 AM, it will try again at 3 AM, 4 AM, and 5 AM.

It's an "atomic watch," so synching is pretty much what they do, every night, so they're always within a fraction of a second of the "correct" time!

If you just want to set the correct time right now, start reading "To Set The Time and Date Manually" on page 5 of the manual.

While you're doing that, make sure "DST" is set to "auto" and that London is selected as the "home city" and your watch shouldn't need adjustment again unless you travel out of that time zone!

Don't be afraid to wear it. It's an amazingly robust piece. I've had mine as a daily wearer every day for the last 2 years, save for the last couple months. It'll take whatever life throws at your wrist.

Glad you got it working. Mike & Lanky are da bomb.
    LankyOrangutan and MCZK like this.
    G-Shocks:
    DW-5000-1JF (w/ 5030 display) <-Daily Wearer
    GW-5000-1JF |DW-5600E | DW-5000-1JF (x2) <-Ya know...for backup...
    DW-5030 | DW-5000SL (x2) | DW-6900...something.

    Got Square!?
