Christmas Watches (and the G-Shock Killer)

I got a few watches in over the last week.

The first is a tenderly loved DW-004. One of my all-time favorite G-Shock models. Positively huge on the wrist, and very comfortable. It needs some cleaning up, and possibly a new strap, but it is otherwise in very good condition.

Next is the atomic Gulfman. I've wanted this one for a while now. It sits right there with my GW-5600, as far as roles go. Time will tell which one wins the battle. So far, I'm very impressed with this watch.

Last is the really cool one. This is a Citizen Ecodrive Promaster Super Tough. Very hard to find and very exciting. It sports a monocoque steel case, with layers of resin around it. Then a steel inner bezel. Anti-magnetic. Five times more shock resistant than normal quartz watches. Water resistant to 200 meters. Solar powered. Flathead screwdown crown (). True sex bolts instead of spring bars. Great lume on the hands. This baby has it all. It cost me dearly, but I love it to death. The size is very similar to a G-Shock.

wow, three great watches you've got there, absolutely stunning. after all this recent talk here with all those fancy looking ana/ana-digi wannabe G's, its good to see some true g-shock spirit again. the citizen is just great, looks like it would survive a near nuclear blast . I've never seen this model before, but its one I would purchase in a minute. is it an optical illusion or is the crystal embedded deeper than the bezel?

Nice 004 Buzz. I had one just like that which I traded to Freediver for my GL-7000. I may just have to get another one like that. Love thte Gulfman. As for the Eco Drive, see my reaction to your post in the Sat. wrist check . Oh, we NEED lume shots of the Eco Drive .

The crystal sits at the bottom of the steel inner bezel. It is nicely protected.

I love the Citizen, but, did you mean Hex bolts instead of "sex" bolts??

Sex bolts. One has a male end, the other has a female end. They screw together. We always called them "sex bolts" in the machine shop. I'm not sure what the correct term is.

Wow, I just looked it up the Citizen Ecodrive Promaster Super Tough.

I still get sh*t for buying a 50 dollar flashlight, but Fenix Flashlights are worth it.

What did you say when you bought the Citizen Ecodrive Promaster Super Tough?

Nice watch though, it looks like a Ball Watch to me.

There is a Ball Watch that I like, a Ball Inspector II.
