    Citizen DOME

Any interest amongst Casio/G-Shock fans in these?

While they don't come cheap, the white/DLC titanium casing and transparent dial/subdials are truly something different. Like our beloved G-Shock, these are radio controlled atomic watches, but non-solar powered. For some reasons, I have the feeling that sci-fi and anime fans would love these models. If not for $2K price tag, I'd still consider getting that very last piece available at Rakuten.

    Product Specifications Common to Both
・Radio-Controlled Watch (USA, Germany, China, Japan Standard Time Radio-Wave Receivable)
    ・World Time in 26 Cities + UTC
    ・1/5 Sec. Chronograph
    ・Alarm
    ・Power Reserve Indicator
    ・Water Resistant to 10 Bar
    ・Titanium Case
    ・Sapphire Glass

White Coated Titanium BY0030-04E (Limited 250 pieces) SOLD OUT
Black DLC Titanium BY0039-00E (Limited 250 pieces) 1 left

While very interesting in technology and design, the domed crystal is a con for me.

I already own a beautiful Citizen Nighthawk with domed crystal (scratched).

So this watch is scratch-prone like a dress watch but large like a shockproof watch.

It's not often you see a watch that is truly different, but that one is. Full marks for that, Citizen.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

It looks almost like a Casio analog G-Shock. I don't like the styling at all. I will stick to lcd only G-Shock watches.

    +1

I've had a few domed crystals get damaged.
A large domed watch would be just asking for trouble.

Just wanted to point out that that specs say it has a sapphire crystal.

Looks pretty cool to me, but I don't think I'd shell out $3K for it.

I like it a lot. But too rich for my blood. If it could be had for a few hundred, I would consider it.

That said, I won't worry so much about the crystal, since it's sapphire i/o mineral glass. I'd worry about the white coating on the titanium more...

Then again, it's a limited production of 500 pieces only. I doubt it'd be worn as a daily.
