    Classic MR-G delivery, finally

I won the auction on this one Aug. 11th, finally got here today. After 19 days of anticipation I'm holding an MR-G 200T. According to my catalog this is the 220T-8, 58000 yen back in 1998! Happy with this one as there are no scratches on the domed crystal and it has an intact caseback gasket. Since it was doa I performed the delicate operation of the CR1616 battery change. Much to my relief the caseback came off easily unlike my last MR-G. As with many used MR-G's the bracelet is too short but I'm going to rig it with a couple links from an MRG 121 until I find spares.

I've only cleaned the caseback so far today, the rest will get cleaned tonight along wih the extra links. Will try to brush out some scratches here and there as well. Love the overall design of it (reminds me of HR Giger for some reason) , the 5th button for the light, the lightness of the titanium. A real beaut, my day has been made.

Vintage MRGs are hard to beat, what a lovely find. I remember when I first wore mine too - congratulations!

Thanks! It's not my first classic MR-G, my first 220 though :) The 130T has a very similar case design to the 220T with those swoopy lines, absolutely stunning. I actually will have that same model in a week or 2!

pl_gristle, can't blame you. They are on the dressier side, but there's a place for that for a lot of us. If you don't care about keeping them pristine, they are just as shock resistant and water resistant as any other G. Make sure you check the bracelet size, so many of them you find have short bracelets and finding spare links is difficult. The all-digital all-metal choices are 100, 110, 200, 210, 220, 1000, 1001, in stainless or titainum. The MRG-1 is all-digital but has resin. Many of them have different variations on dial color as well. A good place to see most of them: Casio G-Shock MR-G Watch Archive photos, videos and specifications
    Good luck!

great snag my friend!! glad this one was easier.

and as to the original price of 58000 yen back in 1998, that was $525 then.

    now, for perspective:
    Inflation Results: $525 in 1998 equals $785.81 in 2017.
