Coldest or Warmest Temperatures You've Seen While Wearing A G-Shock ?

Piowa's post in the WRUW thread inspired the question. He was cycling in -5.8C weather & one member misread it as -58C.

Brought back memories of -40C weather in Prince George, BC for two 2 week stints about 30 years ago. 'Warnings' about how fast [in seconds] skin would freeze.

It was otherwise a pretty steady -10c for most of the winter there.

I bought my first G-shock, a black DW-6900, in Prince George in 1985/86.

    As a refresher, Piowa's post:

Few day ago it was -18,5 C in Warsaw, but I did not take a picture with my watch. Now it is getting warmer...

My personal best for bike riding in low temperatures is 42 km in -21 C. It was ten or more years ago.

But of course it is nothing compared with these guys:

3700 km rowerem przez śniegi Syberii. Rozmowa z Krzysztofem Suchowierskim

Sorry, I could not find anything about their trip in English.

    Cheers, Piowa

I've worn one when it was around zero degrees F (-17.7 Celsius for you non-Yankee folks!). But it didn't matter since it was underneath a coat sleeve.

But, I keep a Protrek on my outdoor Patio in cold weather as a kind of poor man's weather station, and even when the temp was around 0 deg F, I believe it did not read any lower than about 14 deg F. (I think that's as low as it goes for whatever reason)

I guess I didn't mention my hottest exposure wearing a G-Shock. Played golf twice in 105F heat. Took a cart at the one course but couldn't take it on

the grass for fear a spark from the cart might start a fire.

In the second instance, teed off in a.m. as day heated up ... finished the round & decided to book a 2nd round. The guy in the Pro Shop said that if I

was "stupid enough to play a 2nd round in this heat" he was "stupid enough to let me play for free" !!!

Lost 8 pounds that day !

not a G since i wear protreks when i travel but its seen a bit of cold while travelling new zealand. we went in spring but it was the tail end of one of the longest winters in a while so there were some nights that got down to -10C overnight, wouldnt have been so bad if we werent in a camper lol
wearing almost everything i own with a few blankets wasnt a very comfortable nights sleep lol

also went to the antarctic center where they had a wind machine with a thermometer to illustrate wind chill. you hold down a button and it would blast you, got down to about -40C before i had to tap out, it was so intense! cant even fathom having to deal with it as ambient temp. like john had to! tho i would prob be wearing more than thermals, hoodie and a softshell lol

that said, im hoping to get to somewhere during winter one day and experience the cold and snow in a major city (sludge, salt and all!)

hot climate is much easy for me since i live on the sun... the humid sun, most of the year. hottest would prob have been around 40C with 80%+ humidity. "muggy" doesnt even begin to describe it!

I just looked up the temp of where i was and it's going to -24*C now.. glad i did not experience that.. lol was hard to sleep, couldn't breathe properly.. I hate the cold.. I prefer summer any day. Here in Delhi in summer i think it goes to around 45*C max.

Re: Coldest or Warmest Temperatures You've Seen While Wearing A G-Shock ?

A couple of years ago our little company had a team building event - paintball!!

Unfortunately it was scheduled 2 weeks in advance and we didnt know what the weather will be like.

It went to -21 °C and it turned out to be the coldest day of that winter

Anyways I wore my Citizen that day and although I went thru the ice with one foot almost to the knee, we both survived - both me and my Citizen
