    Couldn't wait for more GW-5000-1JF so ...

... I picked up the GW-5610BC-1JF instead . Got it for about half what the 5000-1JF's were going for ($265 shipped from Japan). I have since seen them for even less. I know I know it's Made in China. But the way I see it the first runs of G-Shock models made there will probably be the most quality controlled there are don't ya think ? Makes sense to me. Any way I wasn't going to pay what I saw the 5000-1JF's going for. I put my DW-5600E bull bars on it and to me it is PERFECT . Thanks for Looking -Ronbo

I know it might seem like sacrilege to even suggest that putting a resin strap on it could be a good idea, but srsly I think they look even better with a standard strap. In any case they're terrific watches, with under-the-cuff wearability as well as stealth and solar atomic. Just a perfect G (or very nearly) ...I even preferred the lightness of it to screwbacks (including my GW-5000) when I had to choose something to wear during a squash game a few weeks ago.

EDIT: For the record, mine an M5600BC, although it's essentially the 5 band (as opposed to 6 band) version of the GW-5610BC-1JF

I totally agree with your logic on most controlled China made. You fail the first, got no trust.
Beautiful piece you picked up again. Negative display is kind of unexpected from you for me. How is the display working out for ya? How is the quality?

Where did you buy it from?

I'm looking for either yours or the standard bracelet GW-M5610, depending on price and availability.

Ronbo, how loud do you find the alarm on your new GW-M5610BC?

Compared to a DW-5600E, I find my GW-M5600BC nearly half as loud. I'm curious if the new one has improved it at all. I suspect not, as the exact same casing and back plate are used. CASIO would have to be conscious of the alarm being weaker than average and either beef up the piezo speaker and/or the voltage delivered to it. I've also wondered if the density of the module as well as the thickness of the glass can have an effect. Some models I've owned seem louder when faced towards me and some louder when pointed away.

Also, can you provide a couple of bracelet shots that include the clasp, both open and closed? In your only photo so far, the clasp seems to look different--much shorter.
