    Countdown timer Q

I'm slow in disclosing (to myself) the functions of my G9000 muddie, and yesterday decided to try out the countdown function. The only useful (for me, right now) setting is "4 minutes and 30 seconds from RIGHT NOW" (for preparing medium boiled eggs, if you want to know).
It's very easy to set the countdown to start at whatever time it is right then...
But I was very surprised to learn that the countdown duration can only be set in hours and minutes, NOT SECONDS!
Jeez! I find setting it to 4 or 5 minutes...well, it ain't perfect.

I now set it at 5 minutes, with the progress beeper ON. According to the instructions, the watch emits
*4 short beeps at the top of each countdown minute
*30 seconds before the end of the countdown (that's 4'30") 4 short beeps

I'll see (on boiled egg morning, saturday) how well this goes in practice.

Is it correct countdown SECONDS cannot be set (on a G9G?)...any other suggestions?? (don't come and tell me soft boiled eggs are ready at 4 minutes !)

    hi pablo,

yeah well, just get a g2300/2310 = problem solved

hm, its not only depending on time and on the waters temperature, its also a matter of air pressure. theoretically you could boil your eggs in a mine-shaft 100-200 meters below surface. however, I can see this gets might a little complicated :-D you could also use a steam-pot (is that the correct english word for it?) and your eggs will be boiled in - lets say - 3minutes. but in the end , the easiest (and best) way is just to buy another g-shock with seconds set coutdown timer. I mean what better excuse can you have than "perfectly to the point" boiled eggs...LOL:-D :-D :-D
