    Couple of Protrek Questions

I'm looking at the 1500 and 2000 right now, though I'm just starting to look at Protreks, so other suggestions welcome. My main question is if the "T" versions of these have different case construction or just the Titanium bands compared to the standard counterparts.
Has there been a screwback case ABC watch made by Casio?

I'm almost certain that that is a no, only plate+screws backs.
    Cheers!

Yeah, and I think the titanium may just be the bracelet, and maybe a bit or 2 other. But I have seen mentioned a titanium case, so even if not a screwback, does the back screw into a metal or plastic case?

I have a titanium prg 40 and it's just the band. Also had a titanium prg 250. Also just the band. But the facing is a shiny plastic to simulate an all metal look. My prg 80yt has a titanium band and a metal rotating bezel. Not sure the metal type.

    Re: Couple of Protrek Questions

I also realize I mis-stated my comparison, it is 1500 vs. 2500. The 2000 was preferred due to it's slimmer design, but ruled out because there is no bezel to protect the crystal. Unsat.

I think I like the 2500 due to it's dual layer screen, but the 1500 due to its price. Sounds like the Ti versions are just about color to me as I would replace any bracelet with a resin strap. I do like the metal look with black strap, but already have that in my GW-3500, so will probably just go with the cheaper version of whichever I decide.

    Any other pros/cons to 1500 vs. 2500?

My PRG-130T has a Ti band and even says "Stainless steel back" on the back.

    Re: Couple of Protrek Questions

I like my PAW1500T. The titanium is for the bracelet which is very light and comfy. Between 1500 and 2500, I'd go for the 2500 because of the duplex display. In compass mode, 1500 shows the north using the little display circle inside the dial. It works but the duplex display (laying on top) is easier to read.
Also you can take the band or bracelet of 2500 out and put in other 22 mm bands. No adapter is needed.

But between 2500 (or 1500) vs 2000, I'd choose 2000 because of 24 hr CDT.

    Re: Couple of Protrek Questions

I would love to purchase the Protrek PRW-2500-1B. The black with green trim model is quite nice. I haven't yet seen it available from a distributor in the United States, however. Does anyone know of a reputable retailer from whom I could buy this piece? Thanks.

    Re: Couple of Protrek Questions

I bought the -1A version at Botach Tactical. Good price and they wound up being nice to deal with.

I think the green one is JDM right now, at least all the ones on ebay are around 1.5x the price I paid. You may be able to shoot Botach an email and find out if they can get you one.
