Crystal on my DW5600C after sanding

    Hi,

I would like to ask regarding my dw5600c,
I've done sanding and polished the crystal and all scratches are now gone.

Everything looks perfect for me, but I was wondering on the crystal edge,
It seems like the crystal is not flat anymore, I can see the edge of the crystal is deeper (maybe I can say a little bit has a domed effect).

I tried to captured the watch with light reflection below, hopefully you guys can see the crystal edge,
If the crystal was flat, the light reflection will be straight, but wasn't.

Does anyone has the same experience or result after sanding n polishing your crystal ?
    need your advise please..

Did you sand it face down pressing lightly into the sanding paper with the watch upside down? Or did you sand it with the watch facing up. I believe, IIRC, Member Kung Fusion would sand with the watch facing down to get a more even appearance.

Do a Google search for "watch u seek, Kung fusion, and crystal sanding/ scratch removal". He has posted a lot of threads over the years about the topic. Unfortunately, I think he removed his pictures. But the posts are still there to learn from.

Nice job oz2124, looks great to me, it's also my favourite model / colour scheme!

I have a handful of 5600Cs that I've restored, plus a 5200 restored that I bought from Kung Fusion (as per Rocat's suggestion, what the man doesn't know about restoring old G's isn't worth knowing). To a greater or lesser extend all of mine exhibit an element of the unevenness you photographed. I guess it's the difference between a factory produced panel Vs a hand polished restoration.

Nothing to worry about in my opinion, it's only visible in a reflection and doesn't have any discernible impact on its usability or readability.

I'd just try to forget about it and enjoy wearing it!

    Thanks Rocat,
I did it with face down and slightly pressing down into the sandpaper

Thank you guys for your kind comments

I'm really happy with the result after sanding and polishing, it turns out amazingly.
I just wondering if anyone has the same effect on the crystal

    Cheers,

    It looks amazing!

I need to do a little buffing on my 5200, might just go with diamond paste and see where that gets me as per soulbridgemedia thread suggests.

[edit] oops mixed up users on the polishing thread, my bad!
