Rolling eyes Daylight Savings using GPS...

Can a GPS watch know the day light savings events using only GPS?

I am hoping they put GPS into the GW-M5610-1 but now that I think about it, I don't think day light savings data can be extracted from a GPS signal...

I found this by Googling "Casio GPS" and clicking the first link to a Casio GSP watch that I saw -- in the "Technical Specs" it says:

"When GPS information is acquired the watch determines your current time zone and judges whether or not your location requires the use of summer time, and updates watch settings accordingly."

The full manual is at http://support.casio.com/storage/en/...009/qw5410.pdf if you want to read all the details.

My understanding is that the GPS signals themselves do not include DST information. This has to be done within the receiving device, whether it is a GPS unit or a watch.
