    Decisions, decisions

Well I got that itch again (one that cannot be sorted with an ointment)
I have a birthday coming up and looking for another G.
I was at my local mall and there's a kiosk there that carries some more unusual Gs occasionally.
There nestling amongst the regular GA110, GA100, DW6900 and 5600s was a G9000 mudman, the black with purple screen, now I have never seen the mudman in the "flesh" and I thought they were pretty big and that this model had long been discontinued.
    Anyway I tried it on and . . . . . . really liked it.
Was £85 so not massively expensive, but it did get me checking ebay for other colours as I wasn't certain about the colour, found this olive green version for only £65, might be tempted to also purchase the MS-1 version's all black strap and bezel as well.

I like the size and feel of it.

Anyone got any strong feelings about this watch - good or bad?

Have the green one. The negative screen is tough to see in some lighting situations.

The positive screen versions are excellent non-solar G-Shocks. My wife wears one daily, loves it.

Most of my 9 current Gs are negative display versions - so I clearly prefer the look of them.

I have a 6900MS-1 and love the watch, hate the lack of legibility of the red tinted screen.

On the one hand the purple is unusual and adds a pop of colour to my very low key understated collection
    But
Does purple go with many colours?

I thought the green may be a viable choice as that screen looks far more legible than the MS version and the green is super subtle, but teamed up with the resin from the MS-1 with the clearer screen may be a really good combo.

Forgot to add, the wifey was there and rather unusually she really liked the purple G, makes a change from the usual " Do you really need another G-Shock?"
So it sounds like it wouldn't be hard to get her to get this for me!

I have the dark green one with the negative display (G-9000-3V). I like the color and the stealth look. The negative LCD isn't bad. It has pretty good contrast, but small digits. The contrast is similar to that on my GD-100-1B.

The main thing I don't like is the buttons. They are too hard for me to press, but I knew this going in. My GX-56BB-1 also has button covers molded into the bezel, but the buttons are much easier to press.

It's a cool looking and fairly compact G. I like the purple one too. It's really cool.

Thanks for the real life shot of the olive green version, I have a G5600KG-3 and I don't wear it as much as I would like to as the olive colour doesn't always "go" with anything I wear, that's why I thought about changing the resin to the stealth black from the G9000MS-1, I cannot stand the MS display as it is terrible in anything less than bright, direct light.

Still, with wifey on the side of the Purple monster it would be nice to have a more unusual G in the stable.

Re. The buttons, I rarely use the watch for anything other than the home page and the very occasional use of the timer/stopwatch so stiff buttons don't put me off, but I had heard that about the 9000.

The thing about a purple watch, the point IMO, is that it clashes with just about everything so, from a Taoist perspective, it "goes" with everything.

A man wearing a watch, outside of purely social functions (where, strictly speaking, a watch is not supposed to be worn), makes it clear to everyone in his purview that they are in the presence of a man who considers his time something of value, not something to be wasted.

A man wearing an ostentatiously expensive watch makes it clear to everyone in his purview that they are in the presence of a man who considers little.

get the purple, ya girly man~

its a more unusual variant and will add some pizazz to a day that needs the certain "something"

it appears by your pic to have a good display. the matching button covers are a nice tie in accent.

get it and then later you can blame the wife~
