Deployant article: Interview with Mr. Ibe

    The link is below.

Of particular note in those article is “He [Mr. Ibe] did continue that for the 35th Anniversary for next year, there will be a new watch, which he thinks of a reward to all G-SHOCK otakus world wide.”

Anyone have info on this new watch?

There’s also a nice vid at the end.

Will it be analog or digital, I wonder.
A man wearing a watch, outside of purely social functions (where, strictly speaking, a watch is not supposed to be worn), makes it clear to everyone in his purview that they are in the presence of a man who considers his time something of value, not something to be wasted.

A man wearing an ostentatiously expensive watch makes it clear to everyone in his purview that they are in the presence of a man who considers little.

    Ditto.

If it's not digital, I fear the worst in the long run.

Triple that but I fear the worst. Consumer spending preferences are hard to ignore when you’re a for profit corporation.

Its kinda why I bought digital almost exclusively for my assemblage of G-Shocks; only two analogs.

Otaku means geek in Japanese so a new watch for the G-Shock Otaku he says? The only way I can interpret that is that we will see the next generation digital Rangeman. Next year the Rangeman turns 5 years old and it will then also be 2 years since the new Depth meter Frogman came out and digital Masters during generation shifts tend to come out every 2 years. Also the predecessor GW-9200 Riseman was given a 5 year run (2008-2013) before it was discontinued. So all of these factors points to a next generation Rangeman (that perhaps will be given a different name). My hopes for the next generation is that it will have a depth sensor like the Gulfmaster V2 and also be the first digital with GPS/Bluetooth time sync like the GPW-2000. If we will see a new Rangeman I think we will see a regular black/red version and perhaps a more stealth version and also a 35 Th Anniversary one and I can also see next years Earth watch/ICERC collaboration being one of them. Next years Baselworld will be interesting....

I'd interpret a "geek" watch as digital more so than analog, but I don't consider any Master of G a "geek" watch really. I think of something a little more quirky like a calculator watch lol. Or maybe it's a new take on a smart watch. Fun to speculate though.

A more stealth Rangeman would be nice, this time with all black accents (Buttons, screws, buckle, strap keeper, etc), the Black Panther isn't black enough for me.

All the speculation on the Rangeman has gotten me way to excited. Now it has to be that, or otherwise I would be crushed. Seriously though, it would be great to see a digital with multiband/solar features. GD-350 would be great!
