Did you ever have the urge to do something

to your G that you did not do?

I went to Niagra Falls last weekend and I had the urge to throw my G over the edge to have it go over the falls. Not that I would have been able to see it or find it again but it would have been neat to know if it would survive.

Do you think it would have survived?

I did not throw it in the water. Would have been a waste of a good watch.

I think it might well have survived, actually. Even if in two or three pieces.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

Mate, nice shots of the great fall.

You know it would've survived the drop no problem. We've all seen how much of a beating Gs can take.

Next time you're there throw it over!

But make sure it's on a braided fishing line or something so you get it back....

You should have tied a reallllllllllllllllly long string to your most expensive G and thrown it over the falls lol.

tie something like a very bright pingpong ball or something that will keep it 'barely' floating and visible. then throw it over.

i'm sure survival is no problem, the water foam will act as a cushion. finding it afterward is the main problem

btw, first throw the pingpong ball by itself and see if you can find it.

There can't be many forums where they would be discussing the best way to throw their precious watches over Niagara Falls ! ...... ........

    Great photos too......

With river as wide as it is I do not think a ping pong ball would be able to be seen and caught in time. The river moves pretty fast. I think it would have to be the size of a basketball. Then you would have to be in a small motor boat in the area at the bottom of the falls. Then if it gets swept into the whirlpool area down stream it would be over with too fast and dangerous current for recovery. What I was thinking was through it in with a label and contact info with instructions on what to do if found. Then who ever finds it hopefully would contact me. I may try this next time with one of my least favorite Gs.
