    DIY - turned my Jam'in 6900 in a 6900H-9

I had a Jam'in yellow/green DW6900 hanging around in my watch drawer. Since I wanted a bright yellow G as well, I figured I might as well give it a little DIY makeover.

Last sunday, I ordered a DW6900H-9 bezel and matching strap from Tiktox. The parts showed up this morning.

Ten minutes later, this was the result:

I'm *very* pleased with the result. It's the perfect shade of obnoxious, glowing, look-at-me-yellow that I had in mind.

It did make me wonder though... how cool would this look with a negative display module!!

superb switch! i ordered the same bezel from tiktox as well, but i didn't really like the band which had the skull logo/words of wisdom and plastic buckle, so i ordered a yellow dw-6600 band with no logos and metal buckle, and voila!

Can I ask what does that cost to do? Thanks, Bob

    Hi Bjorn,

That's a sharp looking customized "Taxidriver".

    @ aerysg,

Did you adjust the strap to make it fit on the DW-6900. If I'm correct the DW-660/DW-5600 straps do not direct fit on the DW-6900.

    Cheers,

    Sjors

The straps and the lugs are exactly the same on 6600 and 6900 except the buckle material on the standard 6900.
All resin parts are interchangable! I can confirm because i did it many times.
    I.e. i converted a purple 6600 using DW-6900E parts.

That band with Skull Logo is from limited edition.

Thanks guys. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. I also learned something new re: the 6600 parts!

Depends on the watch and the specific parts you want. Tiktox sells bezels and straps. Both range from about 10 to 20 GBP.

In my particular case, I paid 18,75 for the bezel, 19,55 for the strap, and 9,20 for priority shipping. Total bill was 47,50 GBP. (about 67 USD)

Keep in mind though: these are older, relatively hard-to-find parts. Tiktox also has bezels for your average G9000 or DW5600. You can get those for about 10 GBP. Same thing with straps. They even sell complete kits for particular watches like the Frogman and 5600.

I don't think it's too expensive. Considering how much you pay for the average Hirsch strap... it's actually quite cheap to give a G a complete makeover :D
