Picture Do we really need another GX-56 thread?

YES, because this one now is mine I got my first square G today, I've been eyeballing the new GX-56 ever since I saw the first press release. Last week I found an offer on eBay I couldn't resist :-D This watch is huge - it's about the size of the new atomic Frog. It just about fits my tiny 6.75 inch wrist. It looks way better than in the press release pics btw. Here's a Q&D pic:

The more the better! BTW, please tell us your impressions over the negative display and the red "shock absorver".
Congrats and wear it in great health!

When I saw the first images from Basel-World, I thought that I MUST have this one. But for some reason I have become more and more unsure of GX-56 & GXW-56.
    Maybe you can
    convince me to buy it!?

    Congratz btw

The negative display is one of the best I've seen so far - very clear and even readable under poor light conditions. I wasn't too sure about the red shock absorber as I saw the stock pictures. It looked kinda pinkish - rest assured it's really red - no touch of pink. The shock absorber gives the dial a nice 3d touch

    Hi Micha,

Congratulations on this big King of G! It was hard for me to choose the version I wanted. I really like your version too. The red shock absorber just adds the right amount zest to this model. I like it.

    Cheers,

Why are you unsure? I usually prefer atomic, but at the moment the premium is just too much. Should prices drop, I might consider getting one with a golden display too

Got the watch this morning. Not the best negative display IMHO. My G-7800B's is better. But I agree, it is readable under poor light, unlike my GA-100.
I was uncertain of which to buy before, as I thought the red colour around in the face makes the module look small compares to the bezel. But on a second thought, the red really gives the face character. Otherwise it'll look boring.

My favourite G at the moment. Definitely a keeper.
