Do you remember when Casio had red digits and other colours on their watches?

It must have been around 2002, but I distinctly remember going into H Samuels (I'm UK based) and seeing Casios with different coloured digits rather than the black on grey/green that has remained. I also remember something called the Casio film watch which were very slim and had different designs. Did they just disappear as quickly as they arrived?

    Yes, those watches are gone.

Check for G-3000/G-3300 G-Shocks as an example of colored LCD.
There even were some variants that can change LCD positive/negative.
You see no pictures in my post?
Photobucket decided to lock my pics behind a 40$/month prescription service.
I used their services since 2009 so the most of my old threads have Photobucket pics inside.
If you stumble across one of those threads and want to see the pic, PM me and i will re-attach it.

Cost most likely, and I reckon it was a bit of a gimmick that never took off.

I've actually got one on sale at the moment, (a G-3110), and although the colours seem like a cool feature, I really prefer it with all sections in black with plain background!!

I've got an XVenture watch (possibly a rebranded Skmei?) with digits which are bright red or purple, depending on the angle of view. It was purchased around 2004.

It also features a segmented green oval that indicates passing seconds, and blue "day of the week" indicator. The display is actually very colorful and legible.

I think I bought one of their cheaper ones at the time but didn't hold on to it for long.

theyve done plenty of models since with coloured digits, tho theyve been hit and miss with legibility so that could be part of the reason for the lack of popularity.

    My 3011 says "hi".
Thank you, I'm flattered, but, please don't click any "Likes" for me (unless there's a prize for "most likes")?
