Always use it when I have a digital, just an easy way to keep a mental note of the approximate time.

I voted 'no', but it's a bit strong to say "hate it". I don't hate the hourly timer, I just have no use for it.

I don't need it so I have it switched off.

    I agree.
It also gives me a gentle reminder of how long I've been on-line, or shopping, or in the library, or just goofing off.

I don't use mine now, used to do it in school, so as to 'remind' the teacher that class time is up, and as a kid, its always cool to have a watch that beeps! LOL

Re: do you use the hourly chime

Doesn't relying on the hourly chime to know the approximate time imply that you look at your watch less than once an hour?

If you're looking at your watch less than once an hour, it's time for a new one!
