    a/ it's not atomic - lolz

b/ i thought every year, the US president decides which 2 dates we change the time (forward and backward), so how can this G be programed in advance for the changes ?

On all of my non-atomic Casios, DST On/Off is a manual setting that the owner does when DST begins/ends.

As far as I can tell from looking at the manual, the G-2900 works the same way.

    1) The G2900 is not atomic, so it's not going to automatically switch to and from DST when the dates roll around.

    2) The days for DST changes are determined by Congress, not the president, and while the DATES change each year, "second Saturday of March" has been the same since 2007.

You'll need to remember more -- like which model it was -- and then tell us!

Atomic Casios "work it fine" when it comes to switching to and from DST, but because regional governments can and do switch the DST weekends around, Casio has chosen NOT to program those dates into their watches. If they had, the earliest G-Shocks would have had the wrong dates programmed as soon as the US changed the dates in 1987, and any models after that would have had the wrong dates programmed after the US changed again in 2007. (That's just in the US -- Europe and the rest of the world have changed their dates as well in that time period.)

In the adjustment mode, when you get to DST, set it to On.

Then you'll have to advance the hour by one. In November, you'll turn DST off.

If the DST is set wrong the world time will be off by an hour.

    Re: DST not working

If they made a GW-2900, it would have atomic sync and would have automatically changed the DST setting.

My G-2900 is extremely accurate. I think it drifts like +/- 1 sec per month, depending upon the time of year.
