DW '5000'... Anybody know what's behind the name?

Was reading kevinengland's details about G-Shock, and it struck me, what's the story behind the numbers in G-Shock models? Of course, for want of something, the designing or marketing team would name it what comes to their heads first. But does anybody know how the naming of G-Shocks started?

They made couple thousand I think and one guy had an watch but then he take the watch out the window and then the watch scattered so then couple people started on tougher watch and then the first g-shock was made and little later then the second watch was made and it can handle thru temputure like 14 thru 122 but the sales was not doing good as dw-5000 and ww-5100 in 1983 but after casio gave dw-5200 in 1984 and then they had an commerial of hockey shoot the watch at net and goling open glove and watch was still running and then dw-5200 was saling good and they called dw-5200 watch an hero cause if sales was not good then g-shocks would stop making them.
