    DW 5035D-1B Band

I just bought the 35th Anniversary 5035D. I realised that the band has the part no.(444 GE21 and GE22 16) as the G5600. Does the GW 5000 has a different band ? What is the part no. ?

I don't like the band on the G5600 because the wavy ridges at the end of the band dug into my wrist. However, with the thicker 5035D which sits higher on the wrist, I don't have this problem and it is comfortable.

Is the 5000 bad very soft compare to the 5035 ? Is it possible to purchase the 5000 band ?

    DW 5035D-1B Band

I bought the DW5035 on release day and soon realised when in hand that the band was the standard resin material used by most G-Shocks.
I sourced the first of many GW5000 straps from a U.K. based company called tiktox, cost was £12 including shipping.

I can safely say the DW5000 polyurethane strap is more comfortable to me, it has a slightly more grippy feel to it and is far more pliable/flexible than the standard resin. I find the extra weight of the metal case on the DW5035 was much easier to wear on the GW strap as you could wear it looser without the extra weight moving the watch around your wrist.
I had the DW5035 on its standard strap for about a month.
The GW strap looks very similar, colour may be ever so slightly off, but I don’t notice a difference between bezel and band.
I understand the GW strap does “age” a bit more noticeably than the stiffer DW strap as due to its softer composition it tends to go a bit shiny after a while, but at this cost change it periodically!

I am sure if you are not U.K. based then Pacparts in the USA can assist, but last time I looked the retail cost plus shipping was far more than I paid Tiktox.

Yes, the 5035 band is stiffer than the gw5000 band. I have the softer gw5000 band on my 5035, and I can attest to this.

The gw5000 band is exclusively made in Japan, the 5035 and 5735 say "Made in Thailand" on the clasp.

You can buy the band itself via pacparts for $18 (I have 2 (now 3) on order myself), or you can try your luck on ebay.

    LINK to it via Pacparts:

FYI, if you order it from pacparts, expect to wait a couple of weeks, as it comes from Japan to them and then to you.

Edit: I just put in an order in for a 3rd gw5000 strap, lol.

How about a link (assuming it displays properly)

I found the difference between the 5035 and 5000 resin to be practically negligible. I am fussy about resin and can't wear 5600 or 5610 resin. The 5000 strap color will be noticeably mismatched with the bezel color. 5000 to me was better, but not nearly enough so as to overcome the color mismatch.

I have GW5000 strap on my DW5035D. There is a slight mismatch in tone of the color, but I found the GW5000 to be more comfortable and I keep it that way.

Here's a photo (slightly overexposed) to show the mismatch

There a difference if you look close enough, but really not a big deal, imo. I only noticed it when I first put it on, but now I can't really tell

    Ordered my GW 5000 strap.

I find the Casio Combi bracelet very comfortable, especially the ones on my GW 5600B, but they are too expensive to buy separately...

Combis seem to be universally liked. Everyone who has one seems to love it, either version. I just can't (yet) do the Frankenwatch thing.
