    DW-5035D LCD

Considering DW-5035D but not so sure about it's pixelated LCD. Do you find sun burst effect negatively impact visibility? How would you rate it in term of visibility in a scale of 1-5?

1 being low visibility as in 5600MS
2 somewhat low visibility as in other negative display
    3 standard as in DW-5600E
    4 somewhat good visibility DW-5600MW, GW-5000 and other positive 5610 or GW-B5600
5 high visibility as in GMW B5000

    Thanks

The display on the 5035D isn’t actually pixelated. The background has micro dots in a grid pattern so it give the impression that it’s pixelated. It’s certainly not as difficult to read as a 5600MS negative display but it’s not as clear as 5600M. That being said, it’s much better than any of the square negative displays. I don’t think you’d have a problem with it.

I have the 5735 with the same LCD and it's very legible.

The effect is made by a thin metal sheet which is actually behind the LCD, so the digits themselves are as clear as any positive display, (IMHO).

I would rate it a 4 on your scale. Legibility just ain't an issue. This is a very special square and a no-brainer in my opinion. Get it while it's still somewhat affordable, cuz it won't be for long.

I'd rate it 3.5 to 4 on your scale. Definitely no legibility issues. I miss mine (gifted it to a friend).

I have the DW and couldn’t stand the “sunburst” effect. Gave me a headache every time I look at it. In the end I got a fellow G-Shocker to change the screen. It looked much much better to me!

Well it is a great piece to have! As long as you are okay with the unique sunburst effect. It didn’t work for me but it was awesome for most collectors.

    Re: DW-5035D LCD

I'd describe the effect as more of adding a light-catching sunburst dial feature to it than pixellation. As far as I know this treatment is reserved only for anniversary models. In my wearing experience it dresses up the watch a bit along with the gold keeper and buckle.

Incidentally, I was initially worried that the gold keeper would scratch but I've worn it in daily use and it still has not scratched.
