    dw-5600 battery replacement

Does anyone have advice on removing the battery in a DW-5600? I was able to remove the batteries on a couple of dw-6900s, but the clip holding the battery in on the 5600 is harder to get off.

He's got the back open, it's the battery retaining clip he's having a problem with.

I purchased one of those jeweler's headband with the flip up magnifying lenses which aids greatly in seeing what you are doing. I also purchased a set of jewelers tweezers which have extremely fine tips. I use one of those to depress the retaining bar to release the battery retainer.

Thanks for the advice and link! Thatís what I thought had to be done, but itís so small I thought I was going to break something. What a pain in the butt.
What kind of grease is supposed to be used to reseal the gasket? I read another thread that said to use silicon grease, but I went to a few stores and couldnít find any.

You need silicon grease. If you can't find any in the shops, go to a dive shop. Plenty in Hawai'i. They're almost bound to have silicon grease for sale for all the massive O-rings for underwater camera housings.

A more common name is dielectric grease. You should be able to find it in any auto parts store. Permatex makes it and calls it Tune Up Grease.

Well i cut my batter clamp off. That way you can fit a CR2025 battery (10yr battery life in other watches). Still, if you want to keep the clamp, there is a way of opening it using a needle. I saw it somewhere on this site.
    Must..have...long battery life
