    DW-650 in Blue

I recently exhumed this one from its box. I've had this watch since I bought it new -- probably in the mid 90s. It got a new battery and some wrist time today:

The most interesting feature of this watch is the missing "baby G" logo.

    A small g for man!

I don't think I've seen this model before. It must have been a US release. And yeah, it has a similar styling to some of the classic Baby-G models.

    Thanks for posting the pictures!

A no gimmicks watch with a real nice design. Simple and reliable.

And in my eyes a totally underrated G-Shock.

If I remember right - this model was available in black, blue, green and red in Germany.

I even like it more without the steelbars.

    Wear it in good health

Welcome to the the "original" G-Shock mini. It is mid sized, no smaller than the classic Timex Ironman, and I think works well with either gender. It is, I think, the direct ancestor to some of the original "Baby-G" models, some of which were also black and on fabric straps and not necessarily aimed solely at women.

I put a couple of pics up on the watchshock.com archives.

I agree. Simple, reliable, with pretty much everything you need. (A second time zone would have made it perfect for me.)

Interestingly, it has one of the louder chimes/alarms of any of my G's. I guess size really doesn't matter!
