    DW-6900-1V mod

Updated my old DW-6900-1V with a new bezel from the DW-6900E and an LCD from the DW-6900MC-7. I had installed the G-Illuminator button from the DW-6900MC-7 a few years earlier to replace the existing grey one. Quite pleased with the result. Crystal is a bit scratched up.

The source files were a bit big so it's probably just slow. Edit: I just made the images smaller.

Great 6900. Wish I had skills like that, I'm all thumbs and no patients.

Thanks guys! I was able to see the images the whole time from Firefox on my desktop in the UK, although initially before I shrunk them down they did take ages to display. I was having some issues FTPing the images to hostgator so it may be related to wider issues with hostgator, I'm not sure. Thanks for looking at the thread.

Thanks. Swapping the LCD and getting it to work properly on the old 1289 module took me about 4 hrs of trial and error, but now I know the procedure and the relevant 'hack' (provided a write up elsewhere), it was pretty quick. Being careful and cleaning everything at each stage is the most time consuming part. Changing the illuminator button requires you to remove the module and to detach an e-clip from the button and push it out, stick a new button in and put the e-clip on, although they have a tendency to fly off (when removing or reinstalling) so it's best to have ordered in a spare e-clip or two just in case lol...now that the illuminator button is on I don't really want to be messing with it again.

Apparently WUS is having issues with embedded images in posts atm, so here are the links to the images.
