    DW-6900 'Black Knights'.

Here is one that is not seen very often the DW-6900BKR ‘Black Knights’.

It was issued to commemorate the United States Navy VF-154 Strike Fighter Squadron’s (aka the Black Knights) departure from Atsugi Naval Air Facility in Japan and their last flights in the F-14 Tomcat after 20 years of service with them.

This happened in September 2003 when they were relocated to NAS Lemoore in California and the F/A-18F Super hornet became their aircraft of choice and they became the VFA-154 squadron.

It is in the classic G Shock colours of black and red, “Black Knights” and One Five Four are displayed prominently on the face. Unusually though you will not find the brand name ‘Casio’ anywhere on the watch apart from the SS buckle. I don’t know of any other G Shock that does this.

It is a limited edition obviously and this one is numbered 646 and the case back has an engraving of the squadron’s emblem. Japan made.

The EL has a picture of the tailfin of the F-14 Tomcat.

I suppose the watch would be desirable to current and past members of the squadron and to collectors of military memorabilia.

    A few wrist shots.

I wish I'd kept mine. One of the most unique G-Shocks with a great history. Do you not have the box? That's great too. A triangular shape with a cloth cover if I remember correctly.

Well they very rarely show up. I suspect a lot of them have ended up in the arms of families and friends of people connected with the squadron. This may be why they don't appear as often as you would think they should.

There is one on eBay at the moment but it is expensive in my opinion.

I only have the watch. The box it was issued with was pretty funky but waiting to see if one with a box turned up could have been a long wait indeed.

Another cool thing is that the model name is DW-6900BKR and the full title is 'Black Knights Rule'.

    How cool is that!
