    DW-6900 Module: 1557

anybody out there who wants to sell his Module 1557 for his DW6900?!
Or maybe someone has a spare one?

Bought one on the bay and just realised that the watch is not working with a new battery... :(

lowtech, the 1557 is the 'surftimer' module.

OP - have you tried doing an AC short? I think you can find instuctions in the 'tutorials' section (might need to do this a few times before the beast fires up....)

AC reset...when you take the back plate off there will be a small hole some where along the edge next to the batery. Look closely and you will see the letters "AC." I use a safety pin, but really any piece of metal small enough to fit in the hole will work...place one end in the hole and the other end on the battery. Should fire right up. If not, try it two or three times.

happy to help - enjoy your new (old) watch!!

I've bought quite a few 'dead' examples of the good ol' DW6900 / 1557 on ebay - and they all fired up with a new battery and an AC short or two.

    Thanks.
I am really enjoying them. Because I own now all watches I had when I was a teenager...the surftimer(dw6900) got lost and the DW-003 broke.
Finally I restaurated the DW-6900 - disassembled the entire watch - cleaned and boiled all parts, changed the battery and now painted the security bar.

I am getting some more new (old) watches. I like it when they look used and I can make them look good. :)

This is so great about this forum: when you need help, everybody´s there. Really appreciate.
    Cheers

    Re: DW-6900 Module: 1557

I thought it was - and then i fooled myself by looking the number up on my DW 9000 surftimer, which clearly says1627 on it´s back... Shouldn´t store them in the same box. Or at least i should have looked twice.

Fine that the module works again - just fyi, i have a spare one.

I will send you the money for the DW-004 and DW-6900.
