DW-6900MS-1 Variations? Dim backlight? Different Caseback?

Can anyone tell me what the backlight is like on there watch? Compared to my 2 g-shocks including a dw-5600ms-1 its really dull on this one.

The case back is also very plain and different to what i've seen in pictures.

I'll attach a few pictures in a minute to try and show you.

    Hi,

I noticed that my 5600MS has a greenish tint backlight while my 6900MS has a more bluish tint.

The caseback is different as well, but the 5600 was Made in Thailand while the 6900 was from China.

What really caught my eye was that the 2 bezels were of a slightly different shade of black.

That's my take on these 2 Gs...

Would you say the DW-6900 is considerably less 'bright' when the EL is activated? I tried to photograph both lights but they appear brighter on my camera so it doesn't really work as a comparison. I just wanted to make sure I haven't been sent a dud really or if i'm being fussy.

This is honestly the first G-Shock i've had thats had such a dim light (not mentioning my rising white awg which was awful) and i'm just hoping it's standard for this model so I can stop obsessing

G-shocks vary greatly in alarm volume and back light brightness even within the same model. Often country of origin accounts for this difference, or the vintage of the model, as it seems backlights and Piezoelectric discs change over time with Casio. It's usually not a big deal, but I'm amazed at the difference sometimes, especially in alarm loudness between two identical or nearly identical models.

Casio recently moved the production of most 6900 models fro. Thailand to China. There's some differences in the way these models look. The case back change is the biggest difference.

There was a recent forum post where someone posted a bunch of photos highlighting all the subtle changes.

I came across a video on about the watch on youtube just a minute ago and the person reviewing notes the same problem. It's a shame really as apart from the light I am really pleased with it.
