DW-9500 You win some, you lose some

Posting from my PDA so no pictures just yet. Won a DW-9500 US Open Surfing, took achance on it as picture was a little poor.

Arrived today and I must admit it's a cracking watch :) big and chunky, thermometer and a nylon strap that's big enough to fit me for a change.

Unfortunately there are bits missing :( dunno what to call them, but the plastic things that wrap under the lugs and screw through the bezel into the case either side of the lugs aint there, nor are the screws. Case back seal is missing plus the beeper spring has gone.

Despite that, I really love this watch and will look out for more, beeper spring I doubt will be much of a problem.

Does anybody have an idea where to get case back seals from, also the things missing from the lugs???

    Pics to follow :D

When I have bought watches with little pieces, screws etc missing, I give the casio UK parts department a ring. They are very helpful and have sent me pins/screws in the past without charge.

    Try your luck

    Hi Hoochy,

From what I've heard, it seems that Casio UK has the best service

    Cheers,

Thanks Hoochy, i'll try them on Monday. Here's some Q&D pics in the mean time (very dirty ) you can see in the first pic where the 'thingies' are missing, i reckon they're the same/similar to those on the DW-9000.

Beeper has been fixed with a modified spring bar spring.

Once i get a new gasket, i'll clean it up and i reckon it should come up a treat. Think i might dye it blue too, both strap and bezel.............the green is a bit too pastel for me, though i'm loving the watch

Hmm, they aint the same things as on the 9000 and 9050. Just seen another 9500 and they're much lower profile, they don't have the sticky out bit like on the 9000. A call to Casio looks to be the order of the day.

Hey Rusty, looks like it's gonna be quite the restoration. Have fun with it! I should try and find something like that and do the same thing. Good Luck!

Tbh, once i get the parts that are still missing (lug end plastic thingy bits and gasket) then it should be plain sailing Beeper is already fixed, once new gasket is in place i can clean the thing up. Looks to be in pretty good nick under the gunk, a bath in oxy-action stuff should have it clean in no time.

Then comes the decision of whether or not to dye it blue
