    DW5600E-1V vs G-5600-1JF

There seems to be a lot of interest in the newer G-5600-1JF compared to the other model. The only difference that I can see is the solar power but the price is significantly higher.

Why is there such a big interest in the G5600-1JF? Are there other features that I have overlooked?

Go for the basic DW-5600E. The 1545 module is great.

I have been doing a bit more research and have read some good and bad things about the solar function. So you guys think I am better sticking with the standard model then and avoiding the Tough Solar?

Don't suppose that you have read my other thread about the thickness difference between the two. Any ideas why they appear to be different? If the Tough Solar really is thinner, then I think that would sway my decision in favour of the Tough Solar.

Have you checked out the GW-M5600? That's the real flavour of the month round here.

Yes I saw that one on Seiya san's website. Fortunately for me, I can cross that one off my list because I live in Australia and the functions will be of no benefit.

I'd be hesitant of buying a G-5600. The module has a significant rate of failure.

The DW-5600 is a much safer decision.

Actually, there are other Austrailian members here that do receive an atomic signal...so maybe it's not off your list .
