    DW5600e LCD swap

Any of you attempt this lately? The DW5030 LCD's seem to be restricted on pacparts, meaning I probably can't get one unless I have an actual DW5030. Any sources besides pacparts?

Should have done this mod when I had the chance. Need a daily beater G thats thin, light, and cheap but I hate the lcd on the dw5600. Casio... Argh!!!!

** edit ** just found a bunch of posts for this, disregard.

Here's a link to my build of a DW-5030 from parts, which covers this subject pretty thoroughly IMO: https://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/dw5...s-1357281.html

The only readily available source for 5030 LCDs are complete watches; in my case (and for several others), I had to use the DW-5600-P4 (P9 is the same watch) module. Not cheap at ~$75, but they're about the only game in town nowadays.

    If you like the design:
    GLX-5600s have very good displays.

+1 on the GLX-5600. That lcd is one of the crispest lcds out there from Casio.

The DW5600P-4 is essentially a DW5600e with a DW5030 screen and bullbars attached, it's probably easiest to pick up one and swap out the band/bezel for what you're going for. Definitely love the LCD, it's a great simple mod (did it on a 5600e and 5600MS) that makes for a clean look.

Hmmm... interesting. Is the DW-5600P-4 the only variant of the 5600P that has the same module as the DW-5030? I looked at photos and the DW-5600P-9 looks the same to my eyes.

Lastly, is the bezel the same exact fit as the DW-5600E?

Yes and yes. The P4 and P9 have the same module with the same LCD. The bezels are the same as well.

I have to ask, while cycling modes is there that animation over the tide graph, does this in affect make it take longer to toggle through them? I think this would drive me nuts after a while and wanted to know for sure since I haven’t seen one in person yet. Thanks.

^Yes and it can be annoying. If it bothers you better look for some other watch e.g. G-5600.

New daily G... Epic. LCD makes such a huge difference. This is the dw5600p-4 (red) with 5600e bezel and dw6900e-1 band. The yellow (p-9) has a white case which is noticeable even with a resin swap. This is exactly what I wanted in a daily wear, as my trusty GD350 is just too heavy. An added bonus is the crystal which more closely resembles the original 5600C, with "water 20bar resist" in blue.

    Thanks for the info!
