    Dying Pathfinder case?

Has anyone tried dying a Pathfinder case yet?

I'm looking at one of the newer colored PAG40s ( http://www.amazon.com/Casio-PAG40-7-...9734852&sr=8-3 ) looks like the white part of the case might come off once the screws are removed. I'd like to see the whole thing in black, so I was thinking about getting one and trying to get this part off and then dying it black?

Anyone tried this yet, or been able to get this colored part off easily yet?

It comes in brown too which stands out less than the white does, but either way I'd like to see it in all black. I can't understand why they don't have one like this, but yet in all blue and dark green instead? Maybe they thought it would look too much like a G shock ?

    Thanks -
    Eric

I saw a dyed PAG40-5 on the sales forum a while back and it looked great. Much like the PRG-40 from Japan.

I purchased the PAG40-7 and removed the white button guard and replaced it with one from the titanium PRG-40. The black and silver goes well together.

    Cheers.

That's the ticket then, that's much better than dying one! I KNOW what I am doing now! :)

I bought the piece from Casio USA in New Jersey. The bad news is they say the part is now discontinued. That was quite a while ago so maybe the status has changed. You may also try pac parts, http://www.pacparts.com/

Good luck. It's a great pathfinder.

Either way, just pull the screws on top and it's off, right?

Worst case I'll just paint it. :)

    Thanks -

Green and Tan half bezels available from Casio sales and service -

I'm thinking I'll get the white one, try and dye / paint it and worst case just buy either the tan or green 1/2 bezel if I don't like it.

Part SHOULD come in black to make life easy. :(
