    Earliest atomic Casio?

Can anyone remember the first atomic watch that Casio made? I had one, but I can't even remember what it looked like. I think it was basically about a year before their first atomic G-Shock.

    Thanks for any information.

Here are the info from a quick research, correct me if I'm wrong. The first atomic Casio, which happened to be also a G, was the GW-100 Antman released in 2000. It only worked with the Japanese band, in fact only with the Fukushima station. It's non-solar. It's more of a domestic test of concept.

The first solar atomic analog Casio was the WVA-300 released in 2001. It was also only able to receive from the Fukushima station.

The first solar atomic Casio (also a G) for both Japan and American bands was the GW-300J released in 2002.

I'm sure that is correct. Though the one I had was a cheaper digital. Must not have been that interesting since I didn't keep it for long. :)

I sort of remember what it looked like. It had sort of an unusual shape, like a smaller DW290, or maybe like the HDD-600. But there was a sort of metallic upper bezel. Now that I think about it, it probably wasn't the first atomic model they had. Just an early less expensive one.

The first atomic watch was the G-Shock Antman GW-100 lanched in 2000. Only worked with the Fukushima station in Japan and no solar nor automatic time sync. The first non G-Shock atomic no solar model was the FKT series. There was the FKT-100/110 model a standard digi/ana model and the FKT-200 a twinceptor model with a analog face but a digital display on the crystal glass. Both series released in the same year as the Antman.

    Here is the FKT-110:

    And FKT-200:

First all digital atomic non solar was the WV5X series launched in 2001. Here the WV51HD model:

And the most common one because it was the cheapest at around $100 the WV56H:

Also came with a resin strap:

The first solar atomic model launched in 2002 and was the WVA300K:

Yes! Probably the WV56. I guess the current equivalent might be something like the WV-58. But I know that I didn't pay $100 or even close. I wouldn't have paid more than around $35.

Just to clarify, it was the metal bracelet version who was retailing at $100. The resin version was probably around $70 retail and you could probably find it later on at 50% discount selling at around $35.

I see. Well, I wish I had kept mine now. I like the way it looks.
