    Easy question for you G-aholics

    Hi

Simple question, what is the model number of the recent G-Shock that has the 4 big red pushers on the sides. Its a re-issue of one a good few years ago.

I do not have the faintest clue of the model number or where it can be sourced from, so any helps greatly appreciated.

Sjors, I think I saw in a thread that you had one, but its useless searching through all of your posts...LOL.!

    Thanks in advance.

Are you talking about the MUDMAN G-9000?

    Hi Deano,

What funny. You posted your question while I was replying to this post:

    https://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=34679

So again, it's teh G-5500, the re-issue of the DW-5500 G-ShockII a.k.a. "Mudman". It was the first Mud resist G-Shock, but it's very rare. A version with broken membranes (the red parts covering the buttons) will cost a fortune in Japan if you might find one.

The owner of this watch sold a pretty large part of his vintage G-Shock and Frogman collection to finace this G-ShockII. I believe they call this "good condition" in Japan. I believe if you find one, most of the time the bezel isn't present at all.

I believe the G-5500 is a very good alternative. If even Casionerd wears this watch, what do I need to say more.

The first batch is sold out in Japan, the seconde batch is due to arrive begin November.

    Cheers,

    Sjors
