    eBay - Counterfiet Merchandise

The impunity with which sellers put counterfeit merchandise up on eBay really irritates me. It is one step beyond the guy with the portable tray table hawking this stuff on the streets.

Anyone ever complain to eBay about this?

If it doesn't say Casio on the watch, are you certain it is illegal?

    Hi Kronos,

Once I made it almost a day task of it. There were so many fake G-2000 and Frogmans on eBay that time. Now, with the countless fake Bathing Ape's and other fakes, I would not even know where to begin...

And yew, of course it irritates me, specially when I'm searching for a decent G-Shock and have to struggle through all those fakes. It's probably the reason I have not bought many G-Shocks via eBay anymore (at least not via a search, only from some trusted sellers I know).

    Cheers,

    Sjors

Many of these have been posted (see the fake g-shock report section above), many people have reported listings to ebay and ultimately it seems as if nothing is being done... It's frustrating and although I feel for people that buy these thinking they are genuine, it ultimately falls on Casio to enforce their trademark... Seeing as how ebay still makes their money and apparently are unable or unwilling to police these listings.

At least this particular one is listed as "a g-sport not a casio," which is more I can say for a lot of these fake G-shock listings. This looks awfully similar to one posted as a "prototype" G-shock a while back... wonder if it's the same guy?

Does Casio have the rights to the "G-Shock" phrase?

If not, then that's one reason nothing is being done.

Are they fakes? Or are they homages?

I spotted that same guy the other night, you should have seen the white DW-5600 he was selling, the writing on the underside of the crystal was upside down, and people were actually bidding on it, unbelievable. This idiot needs his *** kicked.

    'Knock-offs'.
I used to list my watches here until I realised it ruined people's Google searches...

Yeah, it really p!$$&$ me off! I can't go to Ebay without sifting through what seems like hundreds of these cheap peices of dung.

The least they could do is stop using the "G-Shock" name, if someone gets one of these and thinks it's real and it breaks soon after that is not the true representation of what G-Shocks are.

    There's no place like home.
