    edifice black collection thoughts

hi guys, do any of you have a watch from the edifice black collection? they look really nice some of them

what is the opinion of these watches guys in regards to durability (not as tough as a g obviously but are they fragile, or are they more tough than other non-g's?, my watches always tend to get knocked around even though i am not really hard on them, i always end up hitting them on doors around the house etc, that's why i like g's: they don't break when do silly things)

and are they nice and accurate? (my most accurate g-shocks lose about 10 secs a month, that's ok accuracy for me and most of the edifice black collection aren't atomic, the reasonably priced ones anyway)

    thanks guys

    Hi there
I don't have a "Black" but I do have a mid-range Edifice and it's running at Quartz chronometer accuracy (i.e. +2s/month). I probably just got lucky in terms of machine-based regulation. TBH, I almost never wear it as, although it's perfectly decent, as soon as I put it on some nasty inner voice whispers "maaaaaaaaaal waaaaaaaatch" and I take it off!
I think what I need to do is get a decent leather strap for it. There's something about a budget japanese bracelet which I do not like.

Yes, solar is quartz. Just joking with you.
I do't know what your budget is but there is a number of Edifice models which are basically one step down from the Oceanus range. They are small, conservative and very nicely made with great movements- RRP of 300 to 400 pounds. These have little in common with the larger, flashier chrono models and should serve you well for decades.

I personally really like them. I currently have an EFA132PB-1AV, and a solar EQS500C-1A1 incoming. Although it's not a Black Collection I've also got an Asian market EF141L-1A on it's way to me too.
They aren't as tough as G's but are still tougher than the average watch. They use very similar if not identical modules as well.

My EFA-132 had a pathetically soft crystal. Pretty much scratched if I looked at it wrong.

That's weird. I know mine's taken a couple of light hits and not a mark on it. Maybe a QC issue?
