    Ever dyed a PRG-40???

    Was contemplating a dye job on my newly acquired PRG-40, to change the blue & grey bezel parts and the light button to black.

    I've dyed a few G's in my time with no problems, but the resin on the Protrek feels different and i wondered if anybody had dyed one before? If it aint gonna dye well, then it'll save me the bother of dismantling the watch

    I am not aware of anyone dying a Protrek/Pathfinder. But, I still think it would work. The dye will work on all sorts of materials.

    Maybe one of the dye hards will chime in...

    I would probably try to find a piece of plastic that you don't care about to see if the dye would work on it before I would attempt it on the PRG-40.

    Well i'm pretty much an 'in for a penny, in for a pound' kind of person, so i'll just go for it, what's the worst that could happen

    Just got to get round to getting some black dye, sent the last of mine to Lexxorcist.

    Rusty, go for it, maybe it will turn out something like this;

    This PRG-40SJ-1JF with strap adapters and a 24mm Zulu, would definitely be a move in the right direction .

    Pity this one is a Japanese market only, at least you have the strap adapters, they are like "gold dust" for Protrek`s. If I could get my hands on the adapters I would import one of these all black 40`s
