    Failing Horribly

I don't know if this problem is typical in the G-Shock community but I've been trying to reduce the size of my watch collection for a while now. Every time I sell a few watches, I feel great that I was able to reduce the number of watches in my collection but then a few weeks later, somehow more watches show up at my doorstep. Case in point, this just showed up the other day:

And that was preceded by this:

    And earlier by this:

So as you can see, I'm failing horribly at reducing the size of my G-Shock collection. Everything looks so interesting and I'm tempted to get one more especially after browsing WUS. Maybe the first step in self help is to avoid looking for used watches on eBay. :P

You aren't the only one. BTW, one of the first things that came to mind upon looking at your thread and seeing that yellow/black GA-100/110? was "ooooooh, I LIKE that!!!"

(what is the model # of that one, seriously?)

For the past couple years, I've told myself I would downsize my collection. The intent was - by a lot. Last year, I sold about 30 or so of my Gs/Protreks! Only trouble was, I bought around 27-28!!

Not much different this year. My collection is decreasing in number, but veeeeeeeeeeeeery slowly!!! I've given up thinking it will happen drastically or quickly. I'm okay with that. As long as I'm in a near constant mode of selling ones I don't much wear, then eventually I'll reach a place where I'm wearing pretty much all the ones I have. Just still...maybe not quite as often as I'd like to.

Lol...yes browsing WUS isn't helping matters much. I was trying to do the buy one sell one strategy but I'm lazy and the collection builds up. I then freak out and then sell a bunch of rarely worn ones at once. At that point, it's much too easy to justify buying only one or two more.

By the way, it's a GA110BY. I love the pop of color on this watch against the black.

WUS is like holding an AA meeting during happy hour at the local pub.

(P.S. that bumblebee one looks cool.)

Sure!! I can give you a whole list of things NOT to do if you want to avoid buying Gs/watches. Things like:

    • stay away from WUS/f17 (most important!)
    • do not "browse" Ebay or other watch sales sites (like Rakuten, Jomashop, Amazon, etc. etc.)
    • do not read Internet watch-related articles
    • keep a ZERO Paypal balance!!
    • do not browse watches in local stores
    • NEVER sign up for "watch-related sales" emails!!!

....and others. But who the H wants to do any of that??!!!

    Thanks for that model number!

Wait but that's pretty much everything that I do on the internet! Lol!

Having a zero Paypal balance is a good idea. Maybe I can use the funds to buy something for my kids and wife. But that's not as fun as buying another G-Shock. :P
